Welcome to Sandown School

So the last week of term draws to a close and we are now half way through the academic year – doesn’t time fly…

The school has been focusing on safe internet use this week and the children have been looking into how to stay safe online – ask your child what they have been doing. It is remarkable how clued-up they are.

A big thank you to you all with the support you have shown the school with regard to the slight morning gate time change. This week we had our first day when no-one was late to class!

When we come back for Term 4 we are straight into our whole school Festivals fortnight. On Monday 19 February we will be dressing up as music festival goers or music inspired dress! This kicks off two weeks in school of celebrating and learning about different festivals. The two weeks will culminate on Friday 2 March with our Holi celebration on the school field.

Have a well earned break and enjoy the half term break – we look forward to seeing you on Monday 19 February from 8.40am when the gates open.

See you at the gate!                                                                         Kate Luxford

We recently received a letter regarding our recent Ofsted inspection, from Patrick Leeson, Corporate Director of KCC's Children, Young People and Education Department as of December 2017

Enjoy the photographs from our whole school Jungle Book collaboration and creativity day held during last year.

 Headteacher's Welcome

Sandown School is a hard working, fun and caring school with a passion for learning and achievement.

We are exceptionally proud of our children. They are bright and happy young people who enjoy being at school, each bringing unique talents to our community. Sandown School pupils have freedom and security to be themselves, and many opportunities to follow their interests and aspirations. At Sandown School we believe that children are better prepared for the future if they are equipped with the tools needed to enable them to become confident, independent, caring and emotionally intelligent individuals.

We hope you enjoy using this website to keep updated with life at Sandown.
